By purchasing these major collections, clients have a constant opportunity to acquire great pieces at extraordinary prices. The first acquisition was a large selection of Lalique statues, Lalique vases, Lalique perfume bottles and Lalique luminaires from the Zilli Strumza Collection Istanbul, Turkey. The second and greatest purchase is the Lori and Joel Shapiro Rene Lalique Collection. The Shapiro Collection which they'd acquired over 20 years is considered the largest and finest collection in the United States, if not in the world. This collection had been featured in a six page article in Arts & Antiques (Sept. 98) and numerous books on Rene Lalique. The collection of over 300 Rene Lalique objects included ashtrays, inkwells, seals, perfume bottles, boxes, numerous colored vases, mirrors, drawings, a unique painting, cire perdue, lighting and architectural pieces. David Weinstein has made purchases in Europe in the past, including the Nicole Morel Collection Paris, France, and a major collection from Italy. We also purchased the Heinrich Schmidt Collection Switzerland and the Ian Chisholm Collection from England. In the United States we've purchased the renowned collection of Charles and Mary Magriel, the Gephart Collection, the Haskell Collection, a majority of the Feder Collection, the Tamaroff Collection, and a majority of the Tabis Collection.
